My chickens lay better when its cooler, and they are actually laying much better than they did during the summer, but they still aren’t where they should be. My daughters flock is barely laying and my son’s flock is doing well, its all very weird.

hens lay based on the sun. winter months usually yield no eggs. if you give them artifical light they will lay.

Stacy of Doug & Stacy advocates feeding chickens fermented grains - they get more nutrition from it, and one buys less feed in the long run. Fermented.

All I know is, since 2020 I cannot eat eggs (or chicken). The smell makes me want to hurl. Friend of mind lives on a farm, raises their own chickens and no problem with smell (or taste).
