I think the next step for Russia is declaring a war (thus ending Special Military Operation). Which will turn Russia into one Giant weapon manufacturer.

The US should have listened to Tom Beardon in the 90's, Russia was 40 years ahead on the tech then

I doubt it'll come to that. What will probably happen, step up the pace and proclaim another round of mobilization + start war time production of weapons.
