had a hundred lbs shepherd that I had to put down at 13 yo, now my wolf dog is 12, has a huge tumor, pancreatitis. 1400 bucks at vet hospital. they got him in fairly good shape, but once again I’ll come home with an empty collar and leash, and wife will hate me. Maybe a couple months, IDK. Just a dad thing I guess

Losing a dog is always difficult. But, losing a wolf dog is more complicated. My grandfather had wolves in Alaska. The bond with a wolf is more intense than a dog. They are a part of your pack/family in a way that a dog never aspires to. Difficult to explain unless you have ever had a wolf in your pack. Your wife will experience loss of this at a different level than losing a mere pet.

only wolf dog that I ever had, He’s not a dog, but a best friend. Nobody gets a wolf dog as a friend without a lot of time and training

True. A wolf is not subservient like a dog. Their loyalty and love is only given to the deserved. My prayers for its recovery and your wife’s comfort that you both did everything possible for the wolf’s wellbeing. God bless you both.

you maybe buy a wolf, but unless you bond, it’s going to be out of control. You’ve got to be partners

I’m afraid for him, don’t want him to suffer, but he wants to live, so I’m going to do what I can
