Those are not towers. They are Torah scrolls, the first 5 books of Moses in Hebrew language. Jews put tiny copies of the scrolls on their doorposts, mezuza, signifying the passage in Deuteronomy commanding them to put this on their door posts to remember Jehovah is God.
