Have an escape plan
Use a burner
Have a contact who’s cool headed in case you need to go to ground
But first
Weigh all the reasons you want to go
Is it to be the detached documentarian
Or to feel the rush of excitement like days of old
No judgment from me in any of it
It is just the logic tree that I follow to keep me from falling into old habits
As I tell my son when I’m with him and he’s heading off to work: DUCK!!! Make sure you come home
