Beware! not everything is what it appears like hand signs for instance. Not every hand sign is the devils horns. In Hawaii that is a common hand sign that means "hang loose". In Texas it's the bulls horns or "hook em" horns for the Texas Longhorns. In Metal music the gesture mimics a gesture made to ward off demons and evil spirits and is not the devils horns like so many think. And the gesture's history extends further still, especially in a spiritual capacity. The irony is that the signal a metal fan makes to indicate some mix of loud music, hedonism and possibly devil worship often is used to expel demons in Buddhism (the Karana Mudra).
