i can speak to LEPC meetings. Alot of people do not lnow what they are. It stand for Local Emergency Preparedness Committee. It is made up of local (ussually county level) agencies and businesses. I participate in them where i live. Those who attend are fire, police, national guard, red cross, health department, cert, ARES, hospitals, and local industries. They are rquired to do exercises, every year. Some of the exercises are table top (basically saying, "this is what we would do"). Others, ussually every other year, are a functional exercise where we actually deploy and pretend (with actors) of an emergency. In my area, we have to a Nuclear exercise every so often. I believe our next exercise will be a chemical spill next summer.
