10km is very deep, about the height of a commercial jet flight. Why go so deep, with all the issues of ground/air/water pressure, assuming gravity works there as it does for us? I wonder if the tunnels are actually more shallow, but these deeper detonations are calculated to destroy them most efficiently from below.
