I'm not saying you're not saved if you don't get baptized. I agree that most people are saved first, and forgive me for muddying the waters.

However, if we're not going to follow our Lord's directive on this, then how obedient are we going to be to Him in all other directives?

I believe the thief on the cross shows that God makes allowances for extenuating circumstances if you can't be water baptized. However, given what I feel scripture and Jesus' own words to be a clear directive that we should be baptized, if we have the time and opportunity then I believe we absolutely should be, and we can't also just discredit so lightly and easily the scripture that indicates we should be baptized.

Don't get caught up in the sacred name movement. It's a snare and confusion, and many will try to deceive you into thinking you have to keep the Mosaic law, which the entire book of Galatians warns against.

I was almost snared by it last October and it was an incredibly difficult and painful time.
