Governor Tim Walz received nearly $10,000 in campaign contributions from donors linked to Somali-operated day care and home health facilities now under investigation for fraud in Minnesota's child care subsidies program.

In 2022, Walz's reelection campaign accepted $1,000 from Mohamed Rabi of Hiawatha Adult Day Center, a facility cited for record-keeping failures. He received $1,000 in 2021 from Khadar Jama of Open Hearts Home Health Care, which shares an address with another flagged assisted living provider.

During his 2018 gubernatorial run, Walz collected $2,250 from Abdiwadi Husen of Minnesota Quality Care and $500 from Nazneen Khatoon of Best Care Home Health Care, the latter investigated for patient neglect and issued correction orders.
