OSFM is on scene in Polk County assisting with fire department deployments and we activated the statewide fire resources rostering system this morning.

The federal government has approved North Carolina's request for the Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG). An FMAG provides a financial reimbursement cost share to the state and local units of government for the cost of equipment, personnel, supplies, emergency work, and other costs for the direct management of a declared fire.

Fire departments, please consider completing the rostering process in preparation for possible deployment to assist with Polk County Wildfires. The OSFM Resource Entry and Deployment System (REDS) allows departments to identify resources available for deployment if the need arises.
