I personally believe that much of this came straight form the Catholic Church's manipulation of the original gospel texts.

As an ex Catholic i understand your statement, however, as a bible believing Christian, i have repented and recieved Jesus as my Lord and savior. i have been forgiven and am tasked with following Gods laws going forward. however, we are all sinners so repentance is critical. no guilt, just a sinner making his way in a world full of sin.
