Expert predicts blackout in Europe: "That means no supermarket, no water, and no Internet for 10 days"

The scenario drawn by blackout and crisis prevention expert Herbert Saurugg is quite bleak: the Austrian believes that a blackout, i.e. the widespread failure of the power grid, is very likely in the coming period. Such an event could cause extremely chaotic conditions worldwide.
According to Heute, there are many factors that favor a blackout, including "the ever-increasing demand for electricity, the fact that renewable energies have no storage facilities, cyber attacks, sabotage and extreme weather conditions."
While the expert devotes most of the interview to the situation in Austria, much of it can be applied to Germany and the rest of Europe.
