My Dad would have the same reaction to certain people when he would see them on tv. I always wondered what he knew about them and now I see and know. Dad was sharp.

That's interesting. I wish I had asked my aunt now. She has passed on, so that's not possible now. Maybe her sister would know? I had just noticed her reaction in recent years - long after the universally loved show was off the air and in syndication. I had theorized she didn't like it because of maybe how it portrayed Southerners - and maybe that's all it was. But her strong repulsion and immediate move for the remote control made her reaction seem more visceral.
