Whether or not the Chris Brown/Will Smith fiasco is real doesn't matter. It's a distraction for everyone regardless. Those who think it's real are consumed with the drama. Those that think it's fake are obsessed with proving it's fake.

The Academy must have really needed Viewers talking about this, and not the lack of annual, traditional A-Listers at front tables. I want to know who WASN'T there - Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Robert DeNiro, basically the front table from the Gervais monologue at the Foreign Press Awards.

Pulling Focus is another stage ploy and they are doing it well.
