she is such a sweet, hardy but tender looking soul,
maybe she senses the little ones get more attention
and maybe she has sensed 'others' have mistreated her
in some way... my aunt had this black french poodle, pierre,
that she used to take to the groomer every week or so,
and one time it came home w/ an afro, and one of
laughed at loud (prob me bc i was close to the dog),
and you could tell pierre's feelings were very hurt as
it moped away toward a quiet place by itself :/
