Two Things come to mind, both military inspired;
1) Motivate yourself (it is easier to make our own choice than to be forced to chose an action).
2) "The true meaning of discipline is not punishment, but the development of self control that allows men and women to strive for perfection and accomplish greatness."
It is in the wording.... It does not say if you don't, it says "will not", a matter of spirit, instead of a matter of body.
