this happened in southern CA in the 1990’s when fleascarrying bubonic plague were discovered in rural campgrounds, so they had to put out feeding stations baired with flea powders to help kill the fleas. it was pretty scary, having mived to So Cal, to find we were luvibg amongst biblical pkague critters! the only sifference is now that it is much mire treatable, if detected early!
