I have a relative who suffers from delusions. My training in parasitology helps me to understand this is effectively a brain parasite. He cannot break out from the delusion by us offering logical arguments, or by showing him evidence of his failures. The delusion prevents all action within his brain which could drive out the parasite. The only solution is likely to be a major shock, which might be fatal. A dilemma. The only solution is the military one. Trust the plan. Nothing else has worked.
