I worked hard jobs in warehouses and factories, doing heavy lifting, repetitive movements, never taking vacations because that was extra money. It was so hot in these places in the summer I would walk out drenched from head to toe in sweat. I worked all the overtime I could get and sometimes I worked two jobs just to give my kids what they needed and wanted. I did it all to raise them. The benefits were good, so I had insurance on the kids. I had to do this because their father walked out on us when they were babies, and although court ordered him to pay support and keep insurance on them, he didn't do it.

Now my body is broken. I have congenital scoliosis, which causes pain. The doctor told me my neck is messed up from all the repetitive motions at these jobs. It got so bad I couldn't move my left arm and was taken off work. I eventually had to quit my job because they couldn't offer me light duty work. I have bad knees from walking on concrete floors, tore meniscus in both of them resulting in surgeries. My back is a mess, I was diagnosed with DDD in 2011. I've been in so much pain for years. Before that I was diagnosed in 1992 with fibromyalgia and arthritis. I went to school to learn a new trade, but only was able to do that for another 5 years because the arthritis got so bad in my hands I couldn't move my fingers. My rheumatologist told me I couldn't work anymore. It took another 12 years to be approved for disability. TWELVE YEARS. By this time I was so depressed from living in chronic pain, I think the judge felt sorry for me and approved my case finally.

I don't care who gets upset, I made a ton of sacrifices because I was left with my kids to raise on my own. I did it for them and I would do it all over again because I love them. I couldn't give them a life of luxury, but I did the best I could.
My kids don't even seem to appreciate the sacrifices I made for them. I never hear from them and haven't seen them in years. Don't even know most of my grandchildren. Sad.
