As per the UK government, cars that have failed an MOT or have an expired MOT should not be allowed to be driven on the road unless the issues reported during the MOT test are rectified or resolved. A heavy penalty is charged to local car owners who are found driving a car without a valid MOT Sheffield certificate. The punishments also include cancellation of car insurance and getting points on the licence.
