I went an on a real ice cream search a couple of years ago. As a label reader I noticed ice cream had additives that I did not want. I searched every brand I saw in each grocery store I visited. Not one brand was "clean" except Straus. It is oraganic and the ingredients are:
Organic cream and organic non fat milk
Organic cane sugar
Organic dutch cocoa ( chocolate ice cream)
Egg yolks
Organic vanilla extract.
It is delicious.
There can be locally made or regional ice creams that are pure. And of course homemade.
