Ernest Nichols (60), a former middle school teacher who was serving decades in prison for repeatedly raping a 15-year-old student, has been killed behind bars.
Authorities confirmed that Nichols was targeted and fatally attacked by another inmate, Wilbert Baldwin (41), who was already serving a sentence for murder. The killing occurred inside Greene Correctional Institution in North Carolina, a high-security facility.
