“Another day of gassing.”
He starts with ethylene gas.
Selects the gassing room.
"We do gas organic and regular bananas."
He dumps the gas liquid.
Walks to the control machine.
Closes the sealed door.
Presses the menu.
Turns the gas ON.
“And we are gassed.”
Industrial-scale chemical exposure done routinely, quietly, and out of sight.
Green bananas go in.
Yellow bananas come out.
Perfectly timed for shelves.

They do that down here in Florida with the oranges. Used to pick them when they were ripe, now all I see is green oranges on the trucks
