Clover .... Feeds bees.

In the 1950s, clover was reclassified as a weed due to a public relations campaign by chemical companies that promoted broadleaf herbicides, such as 2,4-D, which also killed clover. Prior to that, clover was considered an acceptable part of the suburban lawn

So.... 2,4-D herbicide is classified as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). However, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) does not support a link between human cancer and 2,4-D exposure. 1253

Some of the health risks associated with 2,4-D include:

Neurotoxic effects. 2,4-D can cause toxicity and substantially impact the gut microbiome.
Immune system problems.
Hypothyroidism.
Decreased fertility and increased risk of birth defects.
