I have a mouse in the garage that I cannot seem to catch

Tie a piece of string or thread thru the hole on the trap. Cover it with peanut butter and make sure the string gets covered with it. The string will soak up the oil in the peanut butter. The mouse will try to eat the string after the peanut butter is gone and trigger the trap. I have caught many this way over the years.
