The Lord God recognizes this as the new year. Shouldn’t all of those that claim to love the Lord do likewise? That is why I and my house no longer celebrate the pagan Christmas and New Year. Instead, we celebrate the eight-day feast of Hanukkah during the holiday time.

We thank you, Lord, that you will make all things new. Thank you for all that you've allowed into our lives this past year, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every single day.
