Heat does not transfer by conduction in a vacuum. This is why high quality thermoses use a vacuum barrier to hold heat in except at the cap.

Heat does transfer by radiant energy in a vacuum and is absorbed by matter. Dark colors absorb more and lighter colors reflect. Dark colors also dissipate heat quicker than light.

These phenomena have been verified by repeated experiments.

There is no mystery or cover up.
