The lake was as still as glass, the ice protruding from every point of the landscape, the trading boats engaged elsewhere, and the castle stood firm and resolute in the crisp Winter's air.

I was late. And what's more, is that the King would know I was as such as well. He was expecting me and the little package I held in confinement.

My eyes scanned the horizon, there were no dragon's today!

And the castle grounds came alive as I approached closer, children's laughter and excitement with play, villagers clinging to their every day tasks, horses clattering on the path and the wood wagon wheels thudding past, church bells ringing for the evening call to Christmas dinner, and even the faint sound of the Angel choir singing in the background.

It was good to be home, and even better with it being such a Special day.

Enough musings, as I reached again for the small package in my care.
