Mark Carney’s Net Zero Scam? Climate Policy or Brookfield Cash Machine
In Episode 4 of my Mark Carney series, I break down whether his “net zero” climate agenda is actually helping the planet or just creating a carbon cash cow for himself and Brookfield. Since becoming Prime Minister, Carney scrapped the consumer carbon tax, doubled down on industrial carbon pricing, pushed carbon credits and carbon capture, and cut deals that let Canadian oil and gas expand under a “green” label. Has any of this really lowered Canada’s emissions, or has it mainly boosted climate finance profits?
I look at Canada’s emissions trends, per-capita pollution, missed 2030/2035 targets, and the explosion of “transition” projects that big funds love. We’ll talk about carbon markets, CCS, methane rules, and how all of this lines up a little too perfectly with Brookfield’s net zero transition funds and Carney’s own financial incentives.
