Colombian authorities conducted a raid on a hotel in Yarumal, and rescued 17 minors being held by the ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect Lev Tahor.

The children, between 3 and 17 years old, were allegedly subjected to physical and sexual abuse, forced marriage, pregnancies, and human trafficking. Investigators stated they had been abducted from legal guardians in the United States, Canada, and Guatemala, suggesting the orthodox sect may be operating an international child-trafficking network under the guise of religious practices.
