Senescent cells are cells that stop dividing in the body but continue to linger and increase as we age. This may also be a contributing factor to age related diseases such as diabetes. If the harmful effects of these cells could be minimized, then the effects of aging could also theoretically be minimized as well and to a certain extent, even reversed.
