My mom has dementia… is incontinent… totally bed ridden except we do have mechanical lift we use with her… she independently walking and able to get to the bathroom etc until April this year following a sickness , rehab tried to get her motivated to walk and mom said no and began sitting on the floor when they tried to work with her… eventually the hospital said she had to be discharged… that was in May, thank God YHWH for hospice!! This month we are putting her into respit care for a much needed break for my sister BIL and me!!! We told her she was going to a motel and will be getting showers and a jacuzzi while there (we cannot get her into her shower at home) with same hospice staff that comes here!! She’s excited!! This will be our dipping her toes in the water to see about possible nursing home placement in the future… prayers it all goes smoothly
