At the sitting of the Academy of Science, in Paris, M. M. Bauphietuy and Adelde Roseville, surgeons of great distinction, addressed to the Academy of Medicine a detailed note on the Animalcolm, or small animals resembling lice, which are found in all the Cancors that they have exam ined. These gentlemen have sought the means which are best fitted to destroy these Animalculæ, and their experiments have led them to recom mend the following different articles as washes by which these small ani mals may be destroyed: Brandy, or the Tincture of Todine, or Concentrated Solutions of the Double Chloride of Mercury, or the Chloride of Gold, or of Arsenic, or of the Salts of Copper, or of the Nitrate of Silver: esch, or any one of these articles, will kill these small animals, medically called Animalcule, in the short time of twenty minutes, or half an hour at most, and unless they are destroyed
