Righteous indignation is a feeling of anger aroused by a sense of injustice, sin, or moral wrongdoing. It is seen as a justifiable and morally right reaction to perceived mistreatment, insult, or malice, and is rooted in a commitment to what is good and holy rather than personal selfishness or revenge. For example, the biblical story of Jesus overturning the tables in the Temple is a classic example, as his anger stemmed from love for God's holiness and the exploitation of the poor, not from personal insult.
