Germany is in many things different
In German, we also differ from, for example, French. For instance, the German word for moon is DER MOND (masculine) and DIE SONNE (feminine). In French, Mond is LA LUNE (feminine) and Sonne is LE SOLEIL (masculine). The same with THE WORLD in German feminine in French masculine.
