Wow.
I took photos of a similar 'star' January 21 2025 at 20:37 GMT. It got my attention. I accidentally took them in NEF so recently converted to jpg, the files we huge & I need to make space on my computer.

This is quite interesting,
Pulse sequence: 8-13-8-5-13-8, consistently repeating over multiple nights. Isn't that the Fibonacci sequence?

The 'star' I saw was pulsing different colours, that's why I took photos. You can see in the 2nd pic the outer ring changed and broke up, a small 'object' can be seen in the centre. Ultra violet is glowing at the top.
I used a Nikon D7000 with Micro 105mm lens and 2x teleconverter. The D series give 1.5 times mag, so looking at 315mm mag. I have an older Nikon 300mm lens which would give 900mm mag but it's a bother to change the lens! I don't think I did anyway, might have, I lost lens details with converting to jpg. It was in the southern sky.
If I see it again I'll make sure I change the lens!
