A Mayor decided to stop the cactus poachers. and created a new law. Anybody caught poaching or buying one of those large cacti will be arrested and get 10 years jail time. The Mayor kept his promise and one or more people that were caught got thrown in the slammer. It worked, the cactus are left in the desert to grow and flourish.

Look how big they're getting now. They normally live to be 150-175 years old!

They only start growing arms or branches when they’re 50 to 70 years old.
