“The original sin in the Epstein case was the way it was initially brought by Mr. Acosta back in 2006. The original case involved a very limited search warrant or set of search warrants, and didn’t take as much investigatory material as it should have seized,” Patel said.

So will the '06 case somehow affect or be used to affect the undiscussed current case? Does that quote mean anything or are they crafting the cover story for the alibi?

I have no idea what they are planning but I post it because people keep demanding to see the files despite the fact that they have indicated the courts have ongoing cases (remember the judges who refused to release the transcripts) and public remarks in the media suggest they are reviewing additional materials (the files are on the desk video and agents are going through files). My concern has always been that if they released a list and ended any investigations then the exploitation and victimization would continue.
