IMO, Teachers should refrain from any and all personal beliefs and just teach the subject matter. Dress professionally, define behavioral rules day one, and enforce them. Unruly kids are removed from class and sent to detention. Discussions in class need to be on the subject matter at hand with the teacher not interjecting their personal beliefs. Remaining neutral enhances the discussion with the students. Asking things like "why do you think that?" Or "How did you reach that conclusion?" Are better ways to get kids thinking. Teachers who push a personal agenda should be counseled and then if they persist, fired. Our schools need to return to mastery of core subjects, failing students held back if necessary, development of critical thinking skills, and parental participation as necessary for the student to learn. 😇
