Rem the original StarGate movie and the 'egyptian god' had something similar - even brought the dead back to life?
There's so much that the vile Enemy stole and hid from us (dumbed-down) from the last couple of 'Resets' we have no idea what 'use to Be'.
What once was used for Good was stolen and 'altered' - the AI (d'vil 'ghost in the machine') will use it to 'change the DNA etc' to make people more of their BORG (integrated) Lie society.
People will be lured in to rid the diseases the Enemy gov 'gave them' to begin with, believing it SAFE. It'll rid the disease but change them into 'better more obedient slaves' > Transhumans
