I need some help. As some of you know, almost 2 years ago we adopted a baby girl. She's since been given back to her mother, but we still have her almost everyday. A few weeks ago, DCFS/CPS dropped 4 boys on us. And then went AWOL. No caseworker, and barely any contact with the investigator. We have no money to take care of that many boys. We were given 2000$ for beds, clothes, toiletries etc but that has been exhausted. And with no sign of a caseworker, we aren't getting compensated for taking care of these children. We are in need of food assistance. Local church helped to a degree but 4 kids 3, 4, 5 , 7, eat a lot. Anyone have any ideas?

A local church donated a few bags of food. As predicted it went fast. We are going to try and get the children off of their parents EBT. They get 1700$ worth of stamps and cash both. They don't have the kids anymore so won't be needing it. But it seems as if the state abandoned them too. The 7 year old revealed to me that he blames himself cause he ran away and thats how they got removed. Broke my heart. They aren't bad kids they have just gotten the raw end of the deal. The parents just a few months allowed their youngest sister to die by asphyxiation, got her head stuck in a reclining chair. Sad.

God bless you for caring for these children! Have you tried your local Catholic charities, Salvation Army, food stamp office, local churches?
I know in years past I used to collect foods that were about to be tossed bc of the date on milk, eggs, etc from local grocery stores and would distribute them to needy families in the area I was living.
God bless you again and praying for provision for all the children and yourselves.
