This is imo 100% true!
School removes your spirit pitting students against each other using the grading system.

My Dad told my math teacher, If she is getting this wrong
Why aren't you teaching her how to do the work!
My Dad was MAD at the teacher, and school.
Bright red face mad. WHY aren't you doing your job to teach her?
I'll never forget!
Dyslexia and my math skills weren't sharp 😂

Exactly, I gave as good as I got with the teachers, even trying to explain my side and even with English I got told that my interpretations were wrong!! And I said that people's actions were open to interpretations with different people!! Teachers didn't like that I had an opinion different to there's.
