Nerve pain is th worse kind of pain. It is very hard to control. I do suggest you see a specialist. Sometimes heat will help calm the pain. You can try applying a heating pad to your neck and back of your head. Also supporting your neck and head with a neck brace might be helpful. Try a neck supporting pillow as well. Already use a neck pillow and a bed pillow designed for neck pain. I've suffered with this most of my life. I am so done with nerve pain.

I've suffered with this most of my life. For many years it was diagnosed as migraines. Then my mom told me she had occipital neuralgia. So I talked to the dr about it and was diagnosed with the same. It is the most horrible head and neck pain ever.
