This is how ALL SHERIFFS SHOULD BE.
The Duty of every County Sheriff in America is to PROTECT THE LIVES OF THEIR CONSTITUENTS. Literally to stand in between DANGEROUS CRIMINALS and the Good People of their County.
That means BEING TOUGHER THAN ANY CRIMINAL, because that's what Law & Order takes.
A criminal hits, LAW ENFORCEMENT HAS ALL AUTHORITY TO HIT HARDER - TO SUBDUE & STOP ALL THREATS. PERIOD.
Sheriffs also have the power to EMPOWER their Constituents, including to Deputize.

You might have a big strong perp who doesn't fear an M-4 rifle, but pull out that K9 and they'll roll over & beg for handcuffs! 🤣
