It's no secret that China was known to be working on a sun simulator in 2020, and most likely even before that.

I have no idea what the purpose of a synthetic sun is, but could it be to simulate the separation of the earth into two earths? Maybe like bluebook was supposed to provide us with an alien invasion? We have some very crafty people.
