It is asserted that King James weakened the 1599 Geneva when creating the KJV. Specifically it is reported he removed criticism of Kings, etc.
Here is the KJV version of verse 12.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Note the difference with verse 12 in GNV.
12 [b]For we wrestle not against flesh and [c]blood, but against [d]principalities, against powers, and against the worldly governors, the princes of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness, which are in the high places.

Very interesting. I always thought high places in this verse meant third heaven, spirit realm. But in Geneva version it could refer to the high places the OT mentions where they went to offer sacrifices to other gods.
