Current TV series at the moment, Paradise, where the world has been virtually ended by a tsunami, together with nukes, and a group knowing this was coming, built an underground bunker where they're all "thriving."
The president was able to stop most of the nukes going off, by pressing an EMP button which comes with the football, which has the effect of stopping all the world's nukes going from exploding once detonated. Although some did go off, majority didn't.
