The so-called vaccine was nothing more than a software update for NPCs—an upgrade to keep them running in perfect sync with the system, obedient and unquestioning. For real humans, however, it was an insidious attempt to induce a deep slumber, to dull their senses and sever their connection to truth. But the architects of this grand deception underestimated the resistance. Many saw through the illusion, rejecting the poison and standing firm against the coercion. While the NPCs march in lockstep, upgraded and compliant, the real humans remain awake, their minds unshackled, prepared for the battles yet to come.
