As a Catholic who was resistant to watching 'Mary' on Netflix, I have to say I was surprised. We know so little about her that they had to fictionalize a bit but didn't go off the rails. Although they did come close with some of the superhero stuff, I get it.
I was disappointed they didn't make full use of the little scripture we have about Mary and left out the some of the most beautiful words in the bible, written in St Luke, I think this will soften hearts.
If you are touched by the movie, please go back read Luke 1&2 with that softer heart.

I watched part of it last night. I had to take it in two parts. It was very intense. I was sad they left out what Elizabeth said. "And it happened when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” I had nightmares all night for whatever reason.
